Tropical Smoothie

I like to organize my smoothie ingredients based on color. This approach is rooted in my love for healing foods for Chakras, but also so I can create appealing smoothies and not end up with brown sludge.

Yellow foods help us balance our solar plexus chakra, boosting our self-esteem, pleasure, willpower, and personal responsibility. Yellow foods have healing constituents for our digestive organs, stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine, and bile, helping with gastric motility and digestion.

RECIPE

Ingredients

1 cup pineapple cubes

one medium banana

1 Tbsp hemp seeds

1 Tbsp flaxseed meal

1 serving protein powder of choice, paleo or vegan

1 cup coconut water

one pinch of pink Himalayan salt or sea salt

1 tsp MCT oil

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

2 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a blender and process at high speed until well combined;

  • Add more liquid as needed;

  • Serve as a smoothie or a smoothie bowl.
