Acili Ezme (the Turkish salsa)
Acılı Ezme is a spicy Turkish condiment made from finely chopped or blended vegetables, herbs, and spices. The word "Ezme" means "mashed" or "crushed" in Turkish, referring to its texture. It is commonly served as a mezze (appetizer) alongside grilled meats, kebabs, or fresh bread.
Recipe
Ingredients
one lb of rainbow tomatoes, chopped
3 Tbsp of red onions, chopped
1/2 cup of rainbow bell peppers, chopped
1/2 bunch of fresh parsley, chopped
one garlic clove, diced
1/2 tsp chili flakes
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp pink Himalayan salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp Aleppo pepper or paprika
1 Tbsp pomegranate molasses
Instrumente
Prep and chop all your veggies, add them to a food processor, and blend until the mixture looks like a salsa (finely diced veggies, not a smoothie);
You can add more chili flakes as desired for a spicier ezme;
Serve as a salsa with gluten-free crackers and corn tortilla chips or as a dipping sauce for any meat.
Enjoy!
